James Cook station & Steam Engines

Work is progressing on the bases for the platform and new fencing is coming on in places. The access path to the platform is becoming more apparent with the boundary fencing. The concrete pieces that will make up the platform are being stored on site next to the footbridge waiting to be installed. The highlight of the day was a charter train passing on its way to Whitby. The leading steam engine was number 61264 and it was working well to clear the path so the service train from Nunthorpe could return to Middlesbrough. The charter train was top & tailed – 61264 at the front and engine number 61994 at the rear.
